I don't know about any Lifetime Achievment Award but I will say this.....there have been NDA's signed and her stylist is working with her from Monday June 22nd through Sunday June 28th and he can't share any info and that last day that he is booked to work with her that week is the day of the BET Awards right? Something is brewing up until Sunday. She's either going to perform the single on the show I hope......maybe they are shooting the video leading up to Sunday and in doing so rehearsing for a live performance on Sunday. Whoe knows but I just pray that is what going oin. Time wise is just makes sense. Perform the single on Sunday.....release it on Tuesday via Itunes and then release the album date to start preorders. As of today they started airing commercials for her Los Angeles date at the Forum. Janet has this on lockdown and I'm so thrilled that she is dropping news every other day. I mean I wasn't expecting the dates for the tour to be announced so quickly until we heard the first single at least.

Each show has been recorded.....especially the R.N. Tour was recorded in with some new HD Japanese camera at the time so it exists as it was telecast on Japanese T.V. Now I've seen some amazing clips from both the Rock With U tour that were not fan based videos. The footage was definitely edited from different angles and when I saw the show in Los Angeles there were cameras filming it. So one exists for Rock With U tour and that was an amazing show I think.....there was a lot in it but some amazing numbers in it to that were excited such as the beginning of the Control segment, numbers like Rock With U and So Much Betta were hot, the ballad section was stunning and she brought the house down with Together Again! She should release a tour package that includes all her tours from R.N to Number Ones. It would be great if they released a limited run of them and let them sell out and then rerelease them again with the new tour she will be doing. I have converted my friends by just taking them to Janet's shows. With the exception of R.N and The Velvet Rope the music wasn't enough to convert my friends if they weren't into Janet so I would simply take them to show and they would walk out saying "I had no idea Janet was the baddest bitch around!" Boom!

I truly hope her travels in Europe and the Middle East have inspired her so much that it will inspire her entire creative direction whether it will be tamed down or over the top. Janet has great respect for technology and it would be amazing to see if she goes in that direction as far as delivering a show that incorporates some technological surprises. I don't want it too over produced though. Too much distracts me from Janet's raw energy.....she doesn't need much to get us going as long as her heart and energy are in the right place it's going to be crazy! I would love both small and big venues as well as special different type of venues that might be outdoors or even pick locations that are rich in history; i.e. Egypt in front of the pyramids, on the island of Ibiza, on the beach in Bali, the Red Rocks in Colorado, Sydney Opera House, The Esplanade Theaters in the bay in Singapore, The Royal Opera House Muscat in Oman, the Theatre Antique d'Orange in Orange, France....of course these would be for certain dates only. Otherwise a mix of big venues and small venues when touring the U.S. and other major cities around the world. Janet needs to perform in South America this time too....it is too important to leave them out such as Sao Paulo, Rio, Argentina and especially Mexico City at the Palacio de Bellas Artes, even take the show to Puerto Rico, give a free show in Greece(poor things could really use a gift like this!) I just think this tour needs to think outside the box for certain cities. It's a great excuse for Janet to pick extravagant locations for certain cities and put her stamp on the World and remind everyone "My first name ain't baby, it's Janet-Miss Jackson if you're nasty".

So this comment is indeed true and very much about one of the movements Janet is trying to bring about as far as signing new artists or established artists who want more autonomy over their musical careers both financially and creatively. If you haven't seen the documentary called "Artifact" by Thirty Seconds to Mars it explains exactly what artists have to go through when dealing with record labels. They not only own you but bankrupt you. The documentary shows the bands relentless fight with their record label at the time Virgin/EMI as they were writing songs for their new album "This Is War" and the struggles and pressures the band had to face over questions of art, money and integrity. It's a great watch and a lot of high profile musicians are featured in it. Right now is the time for a lot of musicians even actors to be free agents and create their own destinies. You have actors who make millions of dollars complaining about not having any good roles....well you know what, hire a writer or write your own script and try remembering what made you an actor/artist/musician to begin with. Artists want to communicate the most personal issues to them, some want to shock and open our eyes to subjects we are afraid to talk about to, let alone think that their music label will be behind them and nurture their projects. Some artists just want to have fun and give you a good time but to what extent? Music labels and corporations should not be making these decisions for any artist. There is so much to gain by going on your own and this is not only a struggle for artists but a struggle for all of us. I wish Janet the very best as there will be some tough times to defend your art whatever direction you decide to take in but I do know there is revolution going on with artists who I think are looking for a safe haven to create and Janet's ability to create her own record label is amazing and so timely. I'm so excited about it all but of course mostly excited to see Janet again and see where this creative freedom takes her. It's a new era but most importantly an unknown era that might take time to define itself. All we have to do is support Janet's efforts and enjoy the music! I"m beyond thrilled.

Wasn't really impressed with the video considering all the cameos she had in it, hair and makeup on the other girls wasn't great, can't imagine what the budget was but considering it was Joseph Kahn the budget went all into production.
