TwistedElegance™
MC Lyte talks Nicki at VH1 Divas: Hip-hop pioneer MC Lyte shared her thoughts on the Lil’ Kim vs. Nicki Minaj beef backstage at “VH1 Divas.” The politically correct femcee thinks there’s room for everyone, but says it’s not Kim who should be worried by Nicki. “Those who really need to be worried by Nicki’s record is Fergie, Gwen Stefani, Nelly Furtado,” she tells VH1. “Nicki is coming out to win. She’s not thinking of the block. She’s not just thinking of the city. So she’s able to handle so many areas of what it takes right now to be an international star.” http://www.rap-up.com/2010/12/06/mc-lyte-weighs-in-on-lil-kim-vs-nicki-minaj/#more-67395
hotboy06
I agree with MC Lyte..apparently Nicki wants to be a pop star instead of a rap star..
henrietta.
When does the video come out? If it's longer than the song then I'm not viewing it
Aquaria
Being that Fergie, Gwen and Nelly are not in that game anymore it's kind of a moot point. If she really wants to compete in the pop arena she needs to worry about Rihanna, Katy, Ke$ha and Gaga.

I think Lyte is talking about the girls who do that rap/sing style..Fergie, Nelly and them were notorious for it..especially back in 06..but you are right..the it girls now are Rihallah and co.. art
I'd like to clarify that Nicki did NOT break the highest first week sales for a Hip-Hop/Rap album by a female. Lauryn Hill's debut album scanned over 422K first week.

TwistedElegance™
Maybe it's got to do with retail, I don't know. But Nicki herself made the point that Lauryn's album wasn't categorized as Hip-Hop/Rap. I was going off that. Perhaps if you are considered a hip-hop act, your albums can also chart in rap? I couldn't really find anything to clarify it.
TwistedElegance™
Nicki introduces new alter-ego: Nicki Minaj was feeling shades of blue and green during her appearance on Monday’s “Lopez Tonight.” The multi-colored-haired Barbie tells the talk show host what she did on her day off, how it felt to getting patted on the ass by Regis Philbin aka Reggie Bear, and introduces her newest alter-ego Rosa (pronounced Rrrrrosa). George also presents her with a gift to protect her most famous asset. Plus, she performs her next Pink Friday single “Moment 4 Life.” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7SsOKZBiLgg
