LyricalLesson
I seem to be in the minority . . . but I consider most of Janet's later slow jams (from Damita Jo - 20 Y.O. - Discipline) to be amongst her BEST ever. I'm in LOVE with "Greatest X" which seems to be a unanimously hated song of her's on this board I think the "Love 2 Love" / "Take Care" duo are a FANTASTIC close for the brilliant 20 Y.O. album "Moist" is so fuckin' good to me, kinda sounds like huge budget porno film music but I love it. "I Want You" & "Can't B Good" are 2 of my 10 or 15 favorite Janet songs PERIOD. And I have grown to truly love and admire "Nothing" on a very deep level. Excellent song. I find myself listening to her more recent slow jams (minus the two ridiculously horrible songs "Never Let'chu Go" :& and "Discipline") a helluva lot more than her older slow jams. Some are at the top of my favorite of Janet's career catalog.
Elixabef
You mean, I'm not the only one who likes Greatest X? I do like Never Letchu Go, though. I also like Love 2 Love and especially Take Care. And as for "Can't B Good" and "I Want You" - those are a couple of my favorites from recent years. But I don't think I like any of them the way I love the earlier stuff.

Paul
Moist and Take Care are two of the most beautiful. Im gonna add spending time with you to the list of slow Jams, really like it. Really don't like never letchu go or whatever its called....the vocals are too screechy. Cant Be Good is a great song too, I just feel like she could have done a few more adlibs or something to add to the song.

I agree with everything you said, I forgot "Spending Time With You" (even though I was just making fun of it to Henry) I do think that Can't B Good could have used some adlibs, but I really LOVE it for what it is. Greatest X is horrendous . that alone can make an album sound horrible As much as people hate on Never letchu go cuz yeah it's cheasy like that , i enjoy it What is so terrible about "Greatest X" ? I think she sounds so breezy and pure on the track, I love the lyrics, the delivery, the concept of the song, and I like her little climax at the end, It's got an empowering sound to it. Ahhh, it's just great. What don't you like about it? I love the slow jams off "20 Y.O." ... and "I Want You" is AMAZING. "Nothing" is nice. It TRULY is. I believe it's one of my favorite singles of hers post "All For You", I LOVE the throwback vibe, and the vocals!
cnd
Though I love quite a few of them, the majority of her later slow jams don't compare to her pre-2001 classics. I love the slow jams off "20 Y.O." ... and "I Want You" is AMAZING. "Nothing" is nice. I think she did a brilliant job with IWY.

bu.
Chile I LOVE Greatest X! It makes me well up. I get that Justice face when she gives that one tear to Stevie Wonder. In fact I love all those ballads you mentioned. She's great at conveying the right emotion ballads.
SonofBaldwin
"Moist" is PURE jazz. It feature a sample of Curtis Mayfield's "Give Me Your Love (Love Song)." Love it! Also "Discipline" is the shit!

henrietta.
For me: Damita Jo = Love them all...I didn't like "Truly" at first, but it caught me by surprise one day. 20 Y.O. = I can do without those Discipline = I use to like "Greatest X" but now I don't care for it. I love the beat to the title track.
Jodienda76
Spending Time With You, Trully, Discipline are on my list of all time favorites, Oh and I don't know if Roll Witchu is considered a slow jam but that song is so fucking hot and I have no idea who was the fucking asshole who decided to throw that as an extra but I will forever hate them for it.! Laveaux
I actually laugh at the ballads on Discipline, im always like really Janet , REALLY? that said...I love Cant be Good, but I consider that a mid-tempo type song. Moist is absolutely gorgeous. Thats about it for me though, but im not a ballad type of gal.
