Aquaria
B Scott is androgynous. If they wanted a gay man whose way of dress was purely masculine, they shoulda booked one from the beginning.

ThatOtherFan
I don't think they really did their research on him lol B. Scott has worked with BET. Many appearances on 106&Park. He was known to them. He always appears on there in full make-up, hair, wardrobe, etc... Never toned down.

Glad I don't watch it...only when they show The Game or Martin reruns lol

Kishi
They should have found a logical, fair, and reasonable way of dealing with this...where both parties can be happy.

ThatOtherFan
that's 106 & Park. You can be homeless and they'd let you appear. BET is fucked up now anyways. Glad I don't watch it...only when they show The Game or Martin reruns lol The point is that BET was aware of him and what he gave in terms of his overall look. He probably got the job because of his numerous 106 & Park appearances. Along with the fact that he's a somewhat known entity on various other programs (HLN, Chef Roble, etc), along with social media. There should have also been conversation about makeup and whether or not he could wear heels prior to the actual show. Especially since they wanted approval over what he would wear. You can't have the talent there ready to go on (in the agreed upon wardrobe), and then make them remove makeup and change their shoes. Then, if that isn't bad enough, they give his spot in the program to someone else, as if he is the problem. Even the sponsors backed B.Scott. That's huge. Usually the sponsors are the first to speak and show concern about offending the audience. It was a bad and frankly a very bewildering call by someone at BET.

Paul
I'm sure BET isn't bothered about this. They just won't hire him again. His loss. If he had brains he would have shut up and said thanks, and next year or the year after once he was more established he could have called more of the shots. Thats entertainment!

ThatOtherFan
Publicity where? This wasn't news. And biting the hand that feeds you is never a good idea. It was all over the blogs. The PR he's got out this situation was bigger than his appearance on the event itself. If anything, it'll lead to more opportunities, including BET having him back on the network to prove to the LGBT groups that they aren't homophobic. If anything, it'll lead to more opportunities, including BET having him back on the network to prove to the LGBT groups that they aren't homophobic. Asking someone to wear a suit isn't homophobic. Reinforcing gender stereotypes maybe, but homophobic no. People have to conform to dress codes all the time, especially if they are being paid. Someone who is a list status can make certain demands. This guy not so much. He needed the BET awards more than they needed him and I guess he forgot that. Even A listers have to follow dress codes and have their outfits approved from time to time. He made the issue bigger than it was.

Watch Blogs run the internet.. Why do you think they have so much advertisement on their sites??? Young people don't go to CNN, HuffingtonPost, Yahoo or MSN for their news..
