Xtraordinary Xternal
Do you listen to music for what it is and keep an open mind or do you dismiss it if its not on the billboard? Do you need a group of people to like a song before you do?
bu.
I don't look at Billboard or any chart anymore. It bothers me that I used to define the quality of a song by what number it charted at...not anymore. Now I judge a song by how it makes me feel. I'm always open to new music too so if someone recommends something then I'll check it out.
Xtraordinary Xternal
I enjoy many people who don't chart.... I just sometimes get the feeling on here people are more concerned with charts and being on the "winning" team.... honestly I don't get it so I have to ask because I thought music was a form of artistic expression... janetDAYZ
In most cases I dont even like shit thats popular on Billboard. All this Katy Perry,Kesha,Bruno Mars shit? I know nothing about, pay them no mind..have no interest. :lmao: :lmao: Thats stupid to look at Billboard as a source of what you should like, musically. Angela
Honestly no. If I like it, I like it. A lot of the music on radio nowadays is disappointing IMO.
Illi
I might use the charts to check some songs out, but that doesn't mean I like it. Adele is slaying but that does not mean I care for her musically.

LoveSupreme
i have always walked to the beat of my own drum. never cared for social programming and never will. ^THIS!!^ I do take cues from people I like that have similar interests/tastes...like if you tell me I should check out and artist/song, I likely would because our tastes are somewhat parallel...but in the end, if I like it, I like it. If I don't, I don't.
hotboy06
People don't influence my decision on liking music. I do like asking people what they are listening to to broaden my horizons.

Selz
I like what I like - I frequently don't get the choices the public make on X-Factor and things like that. Take Cher Lloyd for instance, so many people were hating on her saying she was nowt but a chav and stuff but I always liked her and today she released her debut album and shat on the haters
Escapade
If I let my peers influence my music taste I'd be on Planet Waka or Planet Gucci Mane and not Planet Janet cause I swear that's what all those coons at my school listen to

RedSimba
I never used Billboard in that way (I use last.fm recommendations instead. ). I didn't even know anything about it (or the Grammy Awards for that matter) when I became a fan of the artists I love.
Kishi
I like what I like. I always welcome my friends to introduce me to different and newer types of music. There are no boundaries.
JoeJoe
Do you listen to music for what it is and keep an open mind or do you dismiss it if its not on the billboard? Do you need a group of people to like a song before you do? Nope cause when I first heard this song on the radio before it even caught on to people on the way to Reno I was like wtf is this shit. Radio will play anything and after a few more times of hearing it I actually like it and I mean really like it. Don't look at me crazy eitha
