The Best Man Holiday - A, GOD DAMNIT THE MOVIE GOT ME, I havent shed a tear for a movie in a year, and we're at the END of 2013 and a movie got me. VERY well written & acted out, and very proper sequel to the 1st. DAMN I wish Janet did these 2 movies over the WDIGM's, Tyler, quit writting......just throw the laptop or ipad, or notebooks away, Tyler could never write as good as this, This movie did what Tyler tries to alot where it balances comedy with dark drama, BUT this movie does it perfectly, Tyler can't quite do that right, the comedy's too 1 tone and the drama is toooooooo dark and overshadows the comedy aspects. DAMN I wish he got somebody else to write for him, tis why FCG will more than likely remain his best movie

"Pimps Up Hos Down" amazing documentary into the life of pimps and their hos....Big Lex, a female lesbian pimp, truly innovative....Mr. Whitefolks really was a man ahead of his time, a White man who through adversity fought his way into the secret society of pimping amongst the Blacks.... A+ :yep: "either you gone ho up or blow up"

The Hunger Games 2 - 4/5

* I didn't read the books or the plot, because I wanted to really immerse myself at the present time. The first movie was great and this one was great as well. I was surprised at a lot of twists in the story and got upset when the movie ended. Now we have to wait for a part 3!

Lootera - 4/5 (Hindi)

* The cinematography and locations were great. The acting felt very genuine. A well written story with a nice flow. I was very impressed, this was another movie I watched without doing research and got pleasantly surprised. :)

Captain Phillip......so far its pretty decent, but Im so over Tom Hanks.....he could star in a scat film and they would give him best shitter in a drama

THIS!! It's always the same actors and actresses and I've noticed that they're not even that good! There's two handfuls of actors I could pick over Tom Hanks this year.

The Bling Ring:

I seriously enjoyed it. Emma Watson is fast becoming one of my favourite actresses. She played her role so well that I actually forgot who Hermione was. I think she can easily get rid of any typecast doubts people may have on her. This movie wasn’t too bad though although it wasn’t great. There was something lacking from it but I’m not sure what… It kind of shows how social media driven and celebrity obsessed we’ve become. I only wish that they had explored the characters deeper and explained why they did what they did.

Bashment:

This was pretty good. It’s about a white guy who goes to a reggae dancehall rap battle with his boyfriend…he participates but something bad happens due to their homosexuality. After that the movie explores violence and homophobia and why they did what they did. Was it the music or something else? I think everyone on this board will probably relate in some way another purely because of the race and music issue. I recommend it although it can be cringe at parts…I really liked a lot of the dialogue. It was poetic in a sense.

The Heat:

LMFAO. I fucking love this movie :lmao:. It’s hilarious and the chemistry between Melissa and Sandra is great. I really hope there’s a sequel. I don’t think I stopped laughing throughout. “1: What you throw at me?”….”2: Watermelon”….”1: see I knew you were racist” :lmao: :lmao:.

Baby Mama:

Not as good as I thought it would be although I did think it was funny. I do love Tina and Amy.

The Hobbit 2:

Fucking amazing. Saw it in IMAX and loved it. I prefer the first one but this one is great too. Great effects. I cannot wait for the last one.

Identity Thief:

Another hilarious movie although I will admit I haven’t seen it all yet! The first 45 minutes are gold though .

The Vow:

Pretty sweet movie. Wow at it being based on a true story – now that’s love. Stuff like this makes me have faith in the human race and shows that with love the greatest obstacles can be overcome.

Dear John:

This was also a great movie. It annoyed me in some parts (like a Ross and Rachel type annoyance). But overall I enjoyed it. I thought the acting from everybody was superb – it’s not often you watch a movie and are impressed by everybody as opposed to one of two standouts.

Any Day Now:

Stars Alan Cumming. It’s about a gay couple who foster a child (who has Downs Syndrome) whose mum is in jail and the trials/tribulations they go through. It’s set in the 1970s so you know they had a lot more shit to go through than they would today. Brilliant acting from Alan Cumming and I’m not a fan of his.

The Grey:

Yawn. I liked bits of it but for the most part I was bored. I hated how the speech was so low yet the music was fucking loud. Ugh. That was mainly why I hated it – I couldn’t tell what they were saying at all. I would hate to be deaf L.

Runner Runner:

Yawn-di-yawn. God I heard this movie was bad but I didn’t think it would be this bad. I switched it off after half an hour because I just could not get into it at all. I don’t think it’s the problem with te actors – I think the script is awful. The plot sounds like it could have been great but it was just executed badly.

Disconnect:

Wow at this movie. I thoroughly recommend this. It actually makes me want to forgive the guys that bullied me at school because maybe they went through something for them to put me what I went through.

Geography Club:

Another gay movie about how the jock is down low and scared of coming out, his boy comes out and inspires a ‘movement’ in school but jock himself stays in the closet. It’s ok for a low budget movie.

Elephant:

I’m not sure if this is the actual Columbine story told or if it’s based on it. I thought it was pretty good. It’s such a tragedy that these things happen L. I don’t think it’s as good as that One Tree Hill episode though – that to me will always be the ultimate school shooting portrayal.

The Best Man:

I watched this finally for the first time. Initially I enjoyed it but looking back I’m kind of meh about it. It wasn’t bad. But I wasn’t moved or thrilled by it. I didn’t find it particularly funny and the characters didn’t interest me at all. I’d like to watch the sequel though.

I'm glad most disagree with that, the man is brilliant, he slays every set he walks on, he's done every type of movie that isn't a porn...and he'd slay that too (straight and gay...that ass) Tom's where he is cause the man can do everything

Most can think what they want. Tom is great and a childhood favourite but this year alone I've seen better acting by others

Somebody been catching up on their films :umm: . I didn't find IT funny at all, turned off after half hour.

Anuvahood - a British "Friday", funnier than I thought it would be.

Johnny English Reborn - silly but some parts are hilarious.

Tower Heist - enjoyable enough.

You didn't like Identity Theft but you liked Tower Heist? It's funny as hell to me, but like me & Bu's earlier discussion I guess its all about your opinion.
